We offer ~900 EUR for publicity in YOUR city for #decentralized social media:
Is there anybody ANYWHERE willing to make good use of it?
The deal is:
1. YOU get quotations for posters and advertising service
2. we agree on the plan
3. YOU take care of all local practical things
4. we pay the bills by bank transfer
Or do you have better ideas than posters?
Please respond to this toot.

@iday both from a cost perspective and from a political perspective
@medusa
I am assuming that we will mange to create a decent design on our own -we did so in the past.
Cheaper alternatives (as far as 100% legal) are welcome. Can you mobilize enough people?
@iday yeah, I mean, if you want 100% legal, stickers may not be the best option bc you can't control what ppl do with them, but fliers are a different story; we used fliers as promo for our film festival, Final Girls Berlin, with a certain degree of success. I also know a couple of local printing co-ops in Berlin which could help. Mobilising people is not hard in this regard (haha), one person can cover a lot of ground/hit up a lot of places.
Fliers and (politely-written) posters are GREAT (we used them too) but require people, so:
For everybody volunteering to distribute fliers in the first week of July for advertising #decentralized media and/or #iday:
Flier SIGN-UP (please indicate city of action) and COORDINATION on:
Our team can #DistributeFliersInJuly in #Zurich
That's correct.
From a strategic point of view, however, it makes sense in my opinion to put the accent on the fastest growing decentralized media, which I believe is mastodon at the moment.
@iday A question out of sheer curiosity: Is this project worldwide?
(To clarify: I'm in South Africa, but unable to organise the printing/distribution of fliers this year - even should the answer be yes.)
@CrazyMyra
Yes, it is worldwide (or at least it tries to): we certainly need more people abroad to support though..
@iday I can offer online boosting only at the moment (health issues), but I very much support your cause. I finally gave up on Twitter, though I haven't closed my account, because it has become dangerously invasive.
Many of the birdcage problems are with inadequate and conscienceless programming, but the monetisation is ideological. I'm not prepared to provide free content to surround their ads and be treated like a criminal for not conforming to their target market vision.
@iday it's too much... but maybe a crowfunding and everything would be published as svg/vectorized? so we could resue them for non-comercial stuffs! ๐
@ajeremias
You can spend also less than 900 EUR if you like! ;)
About the source: it's all on gitlab (see address in the profile) so feel free to reuse any material!
@D
We can support other cities until money is over.
2000 postcards did cost about 40 EUR, so 10-20 cities should be at reach.
We have received no funding request yet however!!
We just need a quotation and to agree on the plan.

@iday would that need to cover design costs as well, or is the design taken care of? Personally, I would rather suggest stickers and guerilla advertising over like going through an agency and renting poster spaces etc
