On the correct topic though, it finally dawned on me the other day that I have 150mbits symmetric at home now. Why I am I paying contabo for vps', when I could just do it at home? So I dusted off a pc and set it up and I'm going migrate one of my vps'. I am going to keep the other one though, mostly for the vpn reason.

@gemlog @maiki Hunh, interesting. I usually use afraid.org when I need dyndns. Though with them if you want to bring your own domain you have to pay a fee or let people borrow subdomains off you.

@feld @satchmoz @maiki It is a requirement to have at least two dns servers. I've been playing this game for over 20 years and haven't had a problem. Maybe I'm just lucky! :-)

@gemlog @maiki @satchmoz RFC218 section 2.5 specifies a minimum of 3 DNS servers 🙃

Ideally they will also be in different ASNs for maximum reliability.

"It is recommended that three servers be provided for most organisation level zones, with at least one which must be well removed from the others."
