I wonder if the people joining Mastodon from India also have an appetite for ditching more of the capitalist internet, because there are replacements for many more things than just twitter.
For example, no need to use google maps when you can add detail of even things like footpaths in your town to OpenStreetMap :

I've never given those *tards a nickle and I never will. They are in the same rubbish tip as microsoft as far as I'm concerned, which is another outfit that never benefited from my largess.
But anyhow, even on apple you have the choice of where you go on the internet. For now. So the list will be useful.
@gemlog thank you. I know. I do a lot of server administration on Linux but some apps I rely on for my work is only available within the walled garden. So not much of a choice and now after investing so much money on this stuff. It would be a tad hard to move. I will keep the list and keep moving the needle.

Still, as I say, they are all internet apps, so you should be able to use them - same as you use masto vs twitter now.
