Today at read-to-littles there was an SUV with no license plates that had been parked in the lot all week so the church folks (Head Start is in a church basement) called for it to be ticketed so they could have it towed.

I was out with the kids on their little playground when an officer rolled up and you could have heard a pin drop when she walked up to the playground fence.

In case you wondered how the 3- to 5-year-old Paw Patrol crowd feels about the actual police right now.

(in contrast, there's a fire department just down the street and there is MUCH EXCITEMENT when a fire truck zooms by. Teachers were bummed that the local VFDs were already booked solid with community appearances and couldn't make it to the end-of-session fair a few weeks ago.)
